i-mate hat auf dem Mobile World Congress ein Handy vorgestellt, welches Businesstauglichkeit mit Militärstandards verbinden soll: Das i-mate 810-F. Das Handy bietet als Betriebssystem Windows Mobile 6.1 und einen 2,4-Zoll-Bildschirm mit 320 x 240 Pixel und 65.000 Farben. Für die Konnektivität stehen u.a. HSDPA, WLAN und Bluetooth bereit.

Bei einem Outdoor-Handy im Militär-Standard fehlt natürlich auch GPS mit A-GPS und Kompassfunktion nicht. Mit einer 2-Megapixel-Kamera und einem Media-Player soll das Handy ebenfalls ausgestattet sein. 200 Stunden hält der Akku im Standby-Modus, im Gespräch bis zu 3,5 Stunden. Der interne Speicher hat eine Kapazität von 2,2 GB.

Zwischen -10 und 60 Grad Celsius sollen laut Hersteller kein Problem für das Handy sein; hoher Druck, Wasser und Feuchtigkeit ebenso wenig. Mit 111 x 66 x 15,5 Millimetern wiegt das Gerät 150 Gramm. In Kürze soll das i-mate 810-F für einen noch unbekannten Preis auf den Markt kommen.
